This blog explores the teachings of leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints about temporal principles such as debt, budgeting, saving, self-reliance, and giving. I also write about scriptures relating to these topics and examine other issues concerning money and spirituality.
My name is Brent Esplin and I live in Taylorsville, Utah. I have a master’s degree in accounting and a CPA license. My wife, Alice, and I have four children and the cutest grandson in the world.
My full-time job is as an auditor for the Department of Defense but my passion is personal finance and investing, which I write about at www.micawberprinciple.com.
I am excited to start this new blog where we will explore the intersection between temporal and spiritual matters.
